MORE SCOOP: The NCAA Division I Baseball Selection Committee, in 2026, will begin seeding teams 1-32 instead of just 1-16. Teams outside of the T16 will be placed in 'groups' and will then be distributed w/ continued geographical considerations, etc. pic.twitter.com/xg7222X9cu

Now this is pretty interesting. Kendall mentioned this was being discussed last year when we talked to him but he didn’t think it would get the support necessary to pass.
Wish this was in place for ‘24 season. Did not deserve to be sent into a buzzsaw regional (CSTAT)
Explain this to me like I’m not a ree-ree. How would this have helped us in 24? CSTAT was a geographical decision wasn’t it?
What’s the intention here?
Just seeing this sorry, yes it was a geographical decision. However, a lot of the national media were ‘ranking us’ the top 2 seed. With this new format (if I understand it correctly), we would not have been sent to the 3 seed (CSTAT) and would have been sent to a 15 or 16 seed regional.
I also could be completely misunderstanding this change
