Homefield Apparel

I know we have our own “vintage” collection. Found this site yesterday and poked around to see what other schools are being offered from this company. No idea how much involvement / influence that the others schools have in what this company sells. I just thought the merchandise they are offering is very well done and cool.

Looked through a few. Got some great stuff for Tulane, JMU, and La Tech. I would drop some serious merch money if anything we ever produced was that cool. Oh well. More money for records and CDs

All I want is an official baseball jersey. I’ll pay all the money.

Id empty my 401k for a UL-Homefield collab.

Same! Closest I could do was go to Amazon last year and get one designed that is very close to Cajuns script. Players parents are doing the same which is pretty sad.

Makes zero sense.

Should be able to walk into the team store and buy all official adidas gear.

I spoke to them last year after exchanging a few emails. They would love to do vintage Cajuns stuff but the administration will not work with them. Stop me when you’ve heard this before…

Well we have a new director of trademark licensing, so hopefully this can change in the near future.

Looks like we are stuck with B&N longer than our football HC. This contract might be worse than Sodexo?

From Chat GPT:
What I found (key facts)
• BNC was selected to manage all course materials, retail and online operations for The Ragin’ Cajuns Store (Student Union + sites at The Heritage at Cajun Village and Russo Park).
• The arrangement includes a strategic alliance with Fanatics (and Lids) to provide a wider assortment of school-branded apparel and run the online fan shop.
• Reporting about the contract terms says it’s a 10-year agreement with a $250,000 one-time signing bonus, and payments tied to sales (reports indicated up to $600,000 in the first year and an annual $10,000 textbook-scholarship contribution). (This summary comes from press coverage of the contract.)
• UL’s store is now integrated into BNC’s campus retail network (storefront + online “Ragin’ Cajuns” shop) and promotes athletics merchandise, special collections (e.g., Vintage Louisiana), and even an NIL store for student-athlete items.

The contract between Barnes & Noble College (BNC) and University of Louisiana at Lafayette (UL Lafayette) officially became effective in March 2022.

3 Sun Belt teams don’t use them. Interesting. I’m guessing our excuse is we already have a vintage line.

Their stuff looks great.

I went shopping at a local vendor, since the Ragin’ Cajun store on Johnston was a disappointment, and they inferred that the university has a stranglehold on how they produce Vintage items.

Absolute Embroidery and LA Hot Stuff are the only businesses worth purchasing Cajuns gear from, IMO. The team store is straight Walmart quality apparel at Gucci store prices.

I can spend a lot of money at Absolute Embroidery. Great experience with their staff!

Parish Ink did some great vintage stuff years ago. They would love to do stuff again but University will not entertain. Surprise, surprise.

The coolest shirt we ever did was during he HUD years. We had that shirt with the Cajun words on it. Combattre, etc.

This right here. It’s laughable how out of whack it is. We had such better quality options before this B&N deal

Why does our administration hate us so much?

Is it possible we hire a university president with absolutely no ties to Louisiana or the Cajun Mafia?
