This has already happened at some schools.

“Private Equity is the devil.” Helen “Mama” Boucher
Seriously, though. When has private equity done anything for anyone’s benefit outside of their investors? Too many horror stories out there about PE swooping into businesses under the guise of helping then everything goes down the toilet.
Bingo. They siphon the assets that exist until the business enters bankruptcy and closes permanently.
You hear the horror stories of private equity because that tugs at emotions and grabs people’s attention.
I’ve worked with, and continue to work with, quite a few successful outfits that started out PE-backed. Some continue to stay that way and run successfully, some IPO’d, and others eventually bought by a larger oil & gas company, or public midstream company, etc.
Not discounting your experience, but I’m dealing with the opposite right now. PE is a sensitive subject around our office.
Montana State’s unis are so nice.
