This came up in the chat during the game. Figured I would start a thread to see if we can help each other out.

Have you been having issue with the ESPN App? If so, what device are you watching on.

I have an Apple TV player and have been having issues for months now. Read somewhere that if you delete the app and reload it would help. Well, it didnt help me.

My son, who is away for college, watched on either his Firestick or the built in app on his Hisense TV. Zero issues. I need to clarify with him today what he watched the game on.

Doing some more research yesterday, it looks like the Firestick can now do multicast. That was the main reason why I got an Apple TV. At the time, it was the only player that can do that. Can anyone confirm multicast on the Firestick and how well does it work?

Edit: son watched on his Fire Stick. Anyone else have similar success with the Fire Stick?

I have a 4k Apple TV (would need to check when I’m home for generation). I have not experienced the issues you guys are reporting when I watch anything on EPSN app. I have used multicast and single game cast.

I also have 300 Mbps down internet connection and I’m hardwired (not using WiFi).

I have a Hisense Smart TV too so i just had the app downloaded directly on the TV. The app froze every single commercial break after the 1st quarter.

My 4K Apple TV is 3rd generation. I’m running iOS 26. Wonder if that has something to do with my issue?

I’ve had the freezing issue during commercials for the last few months. This weekend was the worst. Freezing, losing my connection to multicast, multicast just disappearing. It was bad.

Out of all my smart TVs the only one that gives me issues is my Samsung in the living room. ESPN, Hulu and sometimes paramount are horrible on there. No issues on any other TVs which are all Vizio minus one outside which is a fire tv. I mostly watch my sports outside in the back but when I do watch inside I use the Disney app for espn plus games. It’s the best out of espn and Hulu apps.

I only experience issues on my phone. Game freezes, app randomly closes out. But no problems on my TV other than it logging me out

We have smart TVs that are 2-4 years old. I think one is a samsung.

But I’m wondering if those issues with the app were just temporary. I didn’t have any issues for the Rice game last week. I didn’t have any issues for the TX State-UTSA game Saturday afternoon. I did have issues and kept having to exit out and reload the game vs. McNeese.

All three of those games watched on our Sony smart TV that’s a couple years old.

You’re asking the wrong person. My wife and daughters are the tech gurus in this household. I just somehow make the income.

My you tube TV channel freezes constantly on ESPN. Especially during high viewership times

My ESPN app wasn’t working during the Rice or McNeese games either . According to another poster it was likely due to congestion issues

Seriously it would be nice to check scores during games or at least not be totally off the grid during that time

No issue with either game on Samsung using ESPN+. But the ESPN app for iPhone I used for keeping up with stats was grim. Slow updates for sure.
