I like the fact that the sunbelt is the only conference left with divisions. I also see the perception that the east is so much better than the west. Last 2 season the 2 divisions finished .500 against each other in the regular season. If Arkansas state beats app this weekend the 2 divisions will be .500 again.
Update: Arkansas state wins an apparent thriller in Boone. East vs west at .500.
Troy vs JMU in championship.
Also like to point out Marshall south on a 3 game skid. Couldn’t happen to a better school and coach. Huff huff huff
Sunbelt has 9 bowl eligible teams. 4 in East 5 in west.
We are still a bad football conference. Lucky if we win 3 bowl games.
It has been a down year for the belt. It’s sucks. Let’s be honest, the current Cajuns team would have beaten rice and EMU…….i think. Missouri is really the only game I felt we couldn’t or shouldn’t have been able to win.
The Cajuns team that played Rice and EMU were at full strength. Poor coaching cost us those games.
We had the wrong QB starting those games.
I’ll give you the EMU game, but Walker was not the reason we lost to Rice. TE/WR rooms are 100% responsible for that loss.
No one should be blaming Walker for that loss, but we can all agree Lunch should have been QB1 to start this season. His legs alone would have beat Rice.
But walkers arm would have beat rice if our playmakers could catch the ball.
Maybe. But I stand by my opinion that Lunch is the better QB for our offensive scheme. He has accounted for about 2/3 of our total offense this season.
I’m not arguing that. Only that Howard didn’t lose the rice game.
I’m not blaming Walker. That’s on the coaching staff for not having Lunch start the season. I mean how was our starter 3rd on the depth chart to start the season. That’s mind boggling when you think about it.
Did Lunch look good in fall practice? There may be a reason he started 3rd string. Shit like that happens and when a guy gets his chance he levels up and performs the job is his.
It could be as simple as he didn’t look good in practice but shines in the games. Walker was probably the best qb at practice but when it came to the game he didn’t perform as well
I agree, but if Lunch was performing poorly in practice, why would coaches be like “yeah we gotta get him some game reps”. Not saying this is the case but sometimes you find good things by accident. I.E Tom Brady, Dak Prescott.
Walker was being pushed by Daniel fkn Beale in the spring and fall. Sam Altman looked great in spring. Lunch didn’t look the part. It’s the reason they wanted to insert special packages for him to get him on the field other than at qb. Jake didn’t look good in practice either but all it took was a quarter in the second half of the first game in his true freshman season to get the ball rolling. I facking sucked in practice when I played. There’s too much to think about and trying to perfect. When the game started none of that mattered. It’s just who some people are.
