CFB Landscape Thread

Just wanted to start a thread on the current and future landscape of CFB.

Saw the NCAA’s Football Oversight Committee voted for a single transfer portal in January, which needs to be passed by NCAA’s Division I Administrative Committee. Included links to the committee member lists for each. Curious about 1. what the vote tally looked like for the oversight committee (can’t find an actual vote); 2. odds of it passing admin committee (with Ryan Day publicly slamming the idea).

Also, if the big split ever did happen, would it be legal for the G8 to implement a rule that member schools would treat the P2 conferences as a semi-pro league and once a player transfers to a P2 school, they would not be eligible to return to a G8 team? That would kill their access to players.

I thought this was a thread about our Lady’s Bush cause I saw landscaping lol

No it wouldnt because these players will believe those schools will honor their playing time promises and find out later that they made a mistske. Just look at our guys that transfered to UH and are barely playing.

Right, but players would have to think twice about a commitment to an SEC/B1G school because the only way to transfer out of one of the P2 schools would be to FCS…..lol I just poked a hole in my own idea.

Unless FCS/D3 schools would align with G8 schools, I could see P2 schools partnering with FCS/D3 schools to be a true farm system. Enticing FCS/D3 programs with partnerships/money.

Dumb idea, sorry CFB gods.

Throw a bag and a promise of playing time, these kids aint thinking….they are gone!

We can discuss these type of things all day long but one fact remains, it will always end up in court. There’s many common sense fixes for things but the courts will not let them stand.
