Just wanted to share a new app that I discovered last night for any vinyl enthusiasts here. App is called Dead Format.
Guess you can call it a social media app for vinyl. I’m very new to the app but like what I see so far. People posting what they are listening to. There is a message board which I have not had the chance to poke around very much yet.
Coolest part that I like is a daily challenge. There is a theme to each day and people post albums they have based on that theme. Yesterday was “Pink or red colored vinyl”. Today is “An album with a great closing track”.
I think its going to be a cool way for me to see what others have in their collection and discover new music.
I’d like to get more but strictly for display. Love the art on older albums.
Someone posted a picture of a Jaws album yesterday. It had a shark bite cut out of the album. Very cool variant. Defiantly could be an art piece if you are a Jaws movie fan.

I actually bought a vinyl cleaner that washes and dries records. Helped with my parents old collection. Happy to share if there is ever a need. I paid way too much for a gadget I only used once. Again.

I like vinyl but I’m broke so I buy CDs. My parents have a record player tho. Both formats are cool IMO
Loved the vinyl! However when that facking needle skipped on a scratched albums really pissed me off. And it was a chore to replace a needle for the right one
Needles on new players are way easier to change than many vintage ones.
If you are going to spend money on a vinyl cleaning gadget, splurging for a nice one makes a huge difference and worth every penny.
