Updated win totals?

I predicted 11-1

Right now, 6-6.

6 wins if we are lucky. This team stinks

I didn’t give a prediction but figured 3-1 in OOC. This is a 6-6 team at best.

6-6 is a pipe dream. Last night was the type of game that made me sit back and ask myself if this is something I really want to watch again. Seriously contemplating shutting down my college football plans for the fall. That was miserable.

This is THE TYPICAL UL shit the bed performance like they ALWAYS do. My Dad has always told me and the kids, “UL will always find a way to let you down”.

This is why the TSAB nation will ALWAYS say UL is a little brother. (and to top it off, TSAB of course found their way to win).

I said it at the beginning and I will say it again….. DEZ IS NOT THE ANSWER! He was a safe and cheap hire. He also needs to get the play calling card OUT OF HIS HANDS and give it to a true OC/play caller.

hats off to the Defense for holding that option offense to 14.

I believe if he gave up play calling the team would be much better.

Get rid of having 2 OL coaches. Hire a QB coach and play caller. I like Des. I think he can do great things but he is not a good game day play caller.

I said 12-0, now if they don’t improve and beat McNeese by 30, then we will only win 4-6 games. If we somehow improve dramatically we can still win 8-9

I could be wrong but when the qb was throwing to no one, it looked like the receivers weren’t running the right routes

correct.

Have heard it from a few others, but I agree. This was one of our worst losses in a very long time. Thats not hyperbole. What happened was what you would’ve said before the game, worst case scenario. If this is who we are……6-6 at best? This looks like last year all over again.

Sat next to a couple who’s wife didnt know football, and kept asking, “is he just throwing to the same guy every time? Why don’t they throw to other guys?”

Even SHE could see that. Howard practically stared down Sampson the entire route to throw to him every damn play. And he couldn’t catch the ball. Its like they went into the game thinking they would gameplan for the Howard to Sampson connection , have a big game with that success to build hype. But it wasnt working, but they just kept going back to the well over and over again.

Still think we finish 10-2 or 9-3 with possible losses to Mizzou and JMU. Notre Dame lost to Niu early last year and still played for the Natty, while NIU went 4-4 in conference. This early loss hopefully is a blessing in disguise

6-6. This Oline is big, slow, and has little physicality. WR are uninspired and play calling is insane. No screens or throws down the seem.

the reason we win games is because we r the defense

Dez may have had his worst game as a play caller. Hard to tell considering half the pass plays weren’t executed properly on the field. I’ll believe he didn’t forget how to call plays in the off season. I also didn’t think the OL played bad. We ran the ball well enough just needed to run it more. Rice has one of the better front 7’s in the AAC. Howard should have had some designed runs in the first half to keep rices front 7 honest.

and yes, for the life of me why don’t we run screens with Perry along with a wheel route once in a while. We should be using him like Elijah McGuire was used.

The offense needs to find a groove and build some confidence against mcleast.

Dez needs to find his play calling groove as well.

The offense looked lethargic. No fire, no desire. A reflection of the Head Coach.

I would not say we ran the ball well at all. We tried running the ball and only were getting 1-2 yards, constantly forcing us in long to go situations

You don’t consistently get 1-2 yards a carry and average 4.9

Des has never been a good playcaller

I’d like to see him pass the play calling off and try to be the best HC he can be before he losses his job one day. I really think he’s a good coach and leader, just has too much on his plate in games.

Been saying this for four years. Be the HC and leave the play calling to the OC.
