Good times right there. I would have been right around that area somewhere .
It sounds like some were trolling moo state back with “SEC, SEC” while others were throwing out “SBC, SBC”
Back in those days, a lot of Cajun fans were thinking we had 1 foot out the door on the SBC. Fortunately the SBC has gotten substantially stronger as a conference since then
We were right on the old rail. I remember leaving the 1st game against MSU and some old dude kept yelling wait to you see our secret wepon tomorrow. He was referring to the pitcher that got yanked in the 2nd inning.

Those two weekends (Regional and Super Regional) in 2014 were a lot of fun.
Any idea who we starting against Cincinnati
I have somewhat of a hot take on starting Brasch tomorrow. While he gives us the best chance of winning tomorrow night’s game, starting him tomorrow does not give us the best chance of winning the regional as a whole.
I would start Roman against Cincinnati, who has been terrific over the last two months, and take your chances with your 2nd best SP against the 2 seed. That then allows your #1 to throw in the most important game of the season, either the 1-0 winners bracket game, or an elimination game. This especially could work in our favor due to having four SP’s that are throwing very well right now with the ability to give length.
I know this sort of thinking is usually reserved for 1 seeds in a regional, but there will be multiple 2 and 3 seeds “pitching off” tomorrow with their aces available on Saturday. Just use UCSB and ECU as examples.
I would only throw Brasch about 4 innings Friday so his arm would be able to be used Monday if that game is needed.
I love Brasch, but he’s not Jackson Flora. We don’t have the pitching depth to get cute with it either. Gotta take it one game at a time. They’ll probably only let Brasch go around 70-75 pitches and then save him to either get 3 outs Sunday, or 6 outs Monday.
Go look at Cincinnati’s offensive numbers and then come back and say if you really think pitching Brasch as long as he will go is not a good idea.

If Cincy didn’t have the offense they do then I think we could talk about pitching off. You gotta throw your best to beat them. Plain and simple.
Adding to that, if we get to 1-0 and play Miss State, I’m ok with Herm there.
Look at what pitching off did to USM. Always go #1 arm to start. You dont get to the winners bracket without winning the first one.
