Louisiana U.S. Senate Race Quite Interesting

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — New polls in the Republican primary for the Louisiana U.S. Senate race continue to paint a different picture.

U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy is running for re-election, but first has to secure the Republican primary.

He’s being challenged by Congresswoman Julia Letlow, who secured the endorsement of President Donald Trump, and State Treasurer John Fleming.

The Letlow and Fleming campaigns both released recent polls, showing them in the lead.

The latest polling from JMC Analytics shows Fleming leading both Cassidy and Letlow. 33 percent of those surveyed support Fleming, 26 percent for Cassidy, and 19 percent for Letlow. 20 percent of those polled remain undecided.

The Letlow campaign released two independent polls showing her leading both.

A poll by BDPC Strategic Campaign Services found Letlow leading with 29 percent, followed by Fleming at 23 percent, and Cassidy at 19 percent, with 26 percent undecided.

Another poll by American Pulse Research shows Letlow at 31 percent, Fleming at 25 percent and Cassidy third at 21 percent.

The Cassidy campaign released a statement to Louisiana First News calling the polls “garbage.”

“The latest garbage polls are nothing more than a desperate distraction from Liberal Julia Letlow’s flailing campaign. She doesn’t have the cash and support to defend her woke DEI record or shady stock trading, and Louisiana voters see right through it. Instead of debating and answering tough questions, she’s fighting John Fleming for 2nd place and pushing wildly inflated polls to keep her campaign alive,” said Katie Larkin, the campaign manager for Senator Cassidy.

I’m very interested to see how the GOP Primary for this one goes.
