As Big Dave would say, tonight is the “Holy War”. STM at Teurlings
I think this will be the 1st real test for Teurlings. They had a close game against Notre Dame but I have not watched enough of Notre Dame to know how good they really are. Seems they are very up and down this year.
STM has played a very tough schedule and some close games. They are resilient and will not go away.
Also have to wonder how the new coaching staff at Teurlings will gameplan. We know over the recent years STM has totally outcoached the previous staff.
It’s gunna come down to Teurlings pass defense, simple as that. Can the Rebels stop Cole Bergeron from throwing all over them with that up-tempo spread offense?
I agree with the assessment on the Teurling pass defense. I dont necessarily agree with the final score. I see a closer came than 35-21.
I think it will also come down to STM stopping Teurlings offense. I was not impressed with the lack of physicality of STM lines on both sides vs Carencro. Teurling has put up a lot of points but I dont think they really have been tested like they will be tested tonight.
If Jorge’s boy was 3 inches taller he’d name his scholarship. I watched on yurview last night that kid is one hell of an athlete, who is a very good QB in both in the passing and running game. Congrats to the rebels on a pure dominating performance against the cougars.
This is very true. If he has the size Cole does, he would be the top recruit in the state and would be going to a SEC program. He knows the game very well. He is the definition of a coaches son.
JMO opinion the only skill Cole has that will translate to the next level is his physical stature. Trent Dilfer used to say when talking about QBs either you are the kid that can hit the street sign with a rock or you are not. Cole is not. Very inaccurate in the passing game. Missed opened receivers all night.
Big time. After the first teurlings turnover, they got away from running the ball but once they went back to it, they pushed STM d line around the whole 2nd half
Not sure if they have any players that Des is recruiting but Teurlings o line was big and physical
It is my understanding that the Perry kid was offered to play center. He went down on Friday night with what appeared to be a knee injury. I am not sure haw bad it is. Haven’t heard an update yet.
He has his moments. I’m no coach but I would think that is something that can be adjusted with the right technique coaching.
Perry’s injury didn’t look good. Hope it’s not as bad as it looked. Didn’t know he was offered. He would make a great addition. I think he could compete for a job as a freshman.
Can’t help but pull for a kid like that with all they have gone through.
