Is anyone friends with, or can help me find, the family of Lt. Col Robert Hymel? He was a USL alumni killed in the 9/11 attacks, and I wanted to perhaps reach out to their family and do an interview about him and his legacy.
I believe the best help might be John Claude Arceneaux at the Alumni Center. Bobby’s wife has remarried. I think her married name is Patricia Lapinski (sp?). His twin sister, Mary, is widowed and I believe has left the area to be near her daughter. I don’t know of any relatives beck in Norco. Hope you can find a link to them. Bobby was a great guy, fraternity brother, fellow airman and a hero.

Have you tried asking the newly formed UL veterans alumni group
I talked to Edward Lapinski. He said there was a lawyer that was still in the Lafayette area (he didn’t know the name, Ms. Lapinski is gonna call me tomorrow) that would show me a video about Lt. Col Hymel with an interview with Ms. Lapinski (she doesn’t wanna be interviewed again about it)
