Cajuns Women’s Basketball- I bet you forgot they played today

The buyout is standard in coaches contracts when negotiating with agents. It goes both ways, there’s also a buyout if they leave early to protect yourself.

I asked on the other message board why we dont just shutter womens basketball and was told it would put us out of Title IX compliance

Righhhht. We really needed protection from somebody poaching Bob Marlin from us in his 15th year. Same with Des. He’s never been anywhere but here. Where are we worried he’s going?

If either leaves we have to hire someone at current market value and that will probably cost more

Doesn’t have to be. Do you think Dez or Broadhead would have turned down the job if the salary and incentives were the same but we said no to a buyout clause?

A moot point given none of the coaches being discussed will ever be hired away…

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if Broadhead stays. WBB isn’t worth investing time and money into.

I question if college sports is worth investing in every single day.

Especially when the emphasis is solely focused on “the premium experience”. Instead of focusing on building the atmosphere and fan base.

But what do I know, I’m just a peasant.

You’re negotiating with their agents in good faith. They’re not agreeing to a buyout that goes one way.
