Best part of the day today is that the players did what they had to do. No major coaching decisions played in the game.
We have some outstanding young players. When they develop cohesion and get used of the speed of the game it ll be exciting. Coaching just needs to put them in position to win.
Not sure I agree with the headline but it was nice to see the middle of our order barrel up baseballs. And I’m not even talking about the two HRs. Hebert had some scorched liners and Spalitta hits everything hard. Seems like we’ll have a clear advantage on Sundays if everything stays the same.
Per Talkin’ Tigue, Cajuns weekend ERA was 8.38 and the Bears hit .280 as a team.
Nasty work, especially at the Tigue.
Agree on that but we have some nice pieces. Encouraging thing is I think Deggs was right in his plan going into the season. Yes, we lost some players but overall, I do think this team is better than last year (or at least has the ability to be). Not saying we are a CWS team at this point, but you have to think if Chase was available to start Friday, Ty moves to a long reliever role, we may sweep this weekend against an extremely impressive offense. On top of that, we still waiting for Brooks and Victorian to get healthy also plus Deggs believes Colt could be our closer once Jose comes back. Just to me seems like on the mound we are better.
On the offensive side, I think we can be just as powerful through more players than last year and we are definitely faster.
