Jax State isn’t a slouch. Predicted to finish 3rd in CUSA. Finished 37-21 last season. But I agree, North Texas will be a better test.
I was at the games like normal.
What are your thoughts so far @JMV?
I would agree there were some offline throws…don’t remember anything hurting them though.
Curious who else can play CF, as I don’t think we saw the best defensive OF group UL can put out there.
I think Williams is the answer defensively in CF. She did have the missile to home to throw out the runner in the first game. The only question will be her at the top of the lineup. Stutes won’t be the everyday RFer. When Vasquez is back Hart likely shifts there. There’s still Erin Ardoin as well that may provide better defense than some other options, but would need to be hit for cause girls like Knox and Hart can’t come out of the lineup.
Liscano is not slapping this year. She is hitting .333. She will not be an offensive liability this year.
Hart will move to the outfield when Vasquez returns.
If I were setting the lineup, my outfield would Hart, Knox and Manning.
Infield would have Otto, Vasquez, Liscano and Smith, with Marceaux catching. DP would be Stutes or Norwood.
Batting order would be:
Liscano
Hart
Smith
Knox
Marceaux
Vasquez
Manning
Otto
Stutes/Norwood
I agree Hart will be at the top of the lineup in short order. Love her approach. She’s looking to swing and do damage but works good ABs.
yes Jax St had a solid 37-21 record last year. Also they beat Liberty in their conference tournament, then lost to Liberty in the final. We all know that Liberty team last year went to WCWS and was very good. Jax st is solid. That was a solid win against a good team last night.
