we would of been in a regional that didn’t have so many power hitters, we might of had a chance. We need to raise some good NIL dollars to keep our Freshmen and find some good finds in the transfer and in our incoming Freshmen.

Still an outstanding season for the Cajuns. The guys played with a lot of heart and grit.

Once you get to a Regional, chances are pretty good you’re going to have to contend with a bunch of power hitters. A&M and Texas State in the College Station Regional were two loaded power hitting teams.

We definitely need to retain those core freshman. If we can do that, and add a bit more reliable pitching depth, we have the chance to be VERY good in 2027. Big IFs, though.

After the win against Cincy yesterday I was happy with a regional final appearance. Going from not even making the conference tournament to playing in a regional final was enough for me. Of course I want to win, but looking at the big picture, I was happy. I do wish we would have been a little more competitive.

I didn’t know this, but one one of the broadcasts they showed stats that said the Cajuns played the most games in the country, which of course means the pitching staff threw the most innings in the country. I think we saw what happens when a staff gets stretched like that.

The boys fought though. Even after getting their teeth kicked in all game, they fought. Hope we can keep these guys together.
